What do festivals do for the community of Henderson county?
HENDERSON COUNTY, TN (WNBJ)-
Henderson county is hosting festivals all over the county this weekend,
“Henderson county is blessed to have numerous festivals all throughout the year," says Melissa Gilbert of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.
One of the many festivals this weekend is a cornhole tournament at Sunset Valley Farms,
"We have the tournament so that we get a lot of exposure from people that haven’t been to the farm before. It just helps a lot seeing new faces," says Brian Muetze.
“Our festivals generate support for our community, they bring in tax dollars. We appreciate everybody coming out and supporting out small businesses and shopping local, dinning local, playing local and these festivals bring people to do all of that," say Gilbert.
Gilbert says that ultimately the goal is for people to move to Henderson county, "Attract people and families to our community…henderson county has always been known for being generous and supportive. We make everybody feel welcome, everybody feel like a park of the community.”
