The West Tennessee AgResearch and education center in Jackson is continuing the bicentennial celebration with a heritage festival this Saturday

“The rural and agricultural heritage of west Tennessee in particular and of course it’s a long heritage. And you’ll really see how far we’ve come in last 200 years,” says Scott Stewart West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center director.

On Saturday the center will be filled with demonstrations of traditional skills including weaving and blacksmithing, opportunities to hear from speakers about Tennessee history, food, a hayride around the ag-research center, an antique tractor show, and opportunities to try new skills.

Organizers say that this event has something for the whole family

The bicentennial heritage festival is from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday at the west Tennessee AgResearch and education center in Jackson.

Admission is five dollars for adults and free for children.
