West Tennessee Heart Walk happening this Saturday at Union University


JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - If you are ready to kick start your heart-healthy lifestyle, listen up!


The West Tennessee Heart Walk is happening this Saturday at Union University’s Miller Bell Tower.


The Heart Walk has two route options for participates who want to walk or run.


Attendees can participate in the free Heart Walk or the Red Dress Dash 5k.


The American Heart Association spoke to us about the significance of the Heart Walk and bringing attention to heart disease.


“To celebrate our survivors and caregivers and really just fight back against the deadliest disease still in America,” said Christy Futrell, the Regional Director-West TN with the American Heart Association.


The American Heart Association also says the Heart Walk is designed to help improve overall health and prevent heart disease and stroke.


The festivities at the Heart Walk begin at 7:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. at Union University, which is located at 1050 Union University Drive in Jackson this Saturday.


Donations will be collected at the walk and there will be 35 dollar fee to run in the Red Dress Dash 5k.
