Update on Jackson-Madison county school mask mandate opt-outs
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ)-
The madison county school board has previously issued a mask mandate for all of their schools but parents are able to opt-out due to Governor Lee’s executive order.
Greg Hammond of the school board shares an update on how many of the nearly twelve thousand in-person students have chosen to opt-out of the mandate, “as of today, there have been about twenty more, so it’s at three-hundred and fifteen students have opted out. Of the mask mandate. Still a small number considering the size of our district. “
That’s less than three percent of the in-person student body. The school board will continue to provide updates on mask opt-outs at future health department briefings.
