Travel Local: Shadracks Christmas Wonderland
Christmas traditions and activities look a little different this year, but some that are still able to practice social distancing are still letting their light shine this holiday season.
Right off of interstate 40 at the Jackson Generals ball park hundreds of thousands of lights glow.
“It’s a little bit difficult to learn, but once you do it a couple of times it’s not bad, bunch of measurements involved and networking and power and all the little details people don’t see behind the scenes", says show manager of Shadracks Christmas Wonderland, Logan Herrera.
Shadracks Christmas Wonderland has brought the holiday spirit to the Hub City for more than 2 years.
This year they started planning and setting the lights up in early October.
The show has two sections one where the lights dance with music.
“So there is 14 songs that all the Christmas lights dance to, like Carol of the Bells, Christmas with a Capital C, Joy to the World and some other ones", says Herrera.
And the other that shows your favorite tales.
Herrera says with people wanting to have socially distanced Christmas fun this year they’ve had a lot more customers.
“We’ve definitely seen an uptick in people this year as apposed to last year. Booth workers wear masks and we have hand sanitizer and we try to be as touchless as we can."
Shadracks Christmas Wonderland is open 6pm until 10 pm nightly and ends on January 3rd.
