THP is now taking applications for new recruits
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The application process for the Tennessee Highway Patrol is now open.
Several positions are available across the state.
Many counties in the surrounding area need new troopers. Some of those include Madison County, Carroll County, Henderson County, and numerous others.
One of the recruiters at THP explains why he enjoys his job and hopes to inspire viewers to look into the field of law enforcement.
“People need to understand that the job is more about de-escalation and trying to help people. A lot of times through difficult moments they have, and everyone can understand a difficult moment. Helping people through that and helping them reason through a problematic time they have is one of the most rewarding things. One of the things we are looking for in the future, especially in law enforcement,” said Josh Wade, a recruiter at the Tennessee Highway Patrol
After you apply and are selected as a new recruit, you will have to attend a 16-week training in Nashville.
If you have prior law enforcement experience you will have to attend a 10-week training and field training.
If you are interested in becoming a trooper with Tennessee Highway Patrol, the application process is open until August 31st.
To apply, please visit THP's website.
