The Madison County Sheriff's Office Recognizes Deputies Keeping Roads Safe

Jackson, TN. (WNBJ)-

Four deputies at the Madison County Sheriff’s Offices were recognized today for their outstanding service by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office. These awards were presented to deputies who are ensuring driving on our county roads are safe. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office competed against other departments in their region and took home gold in the areas of distracted driving, dui, speeding, and seat belt violations. John Mehr (Madison County Sheriff) says, “that’s a really big honor to see members of our department win awards like this.”

One deputy recognized today was Andrew Pollock. Andrew says this award was important to him because his goal is to keep residents safe on the roads. We asked deputy pollock what his secrete was for identifying distracted drivers… Andrew Pollock (MCSO Deputy) explained, “noticing the violations that take place in everyday—when people are driving and stopping those violations and correcting them right then.”

While the Madison County Sheriff’s Office does place an emphasis on correcting these major violations, Sheriff Mehr hopes to one day do away with citations. First, he say’s residents must do their part. John Mehr (Madison County Sheriff) told 39 news, “let’s everybody do their part, and let’s make Madison County safe.”
