The City of Jackson will add new equipment to it's parks this spring
The City of Jackson, in partnership with Amerigroup, will add new equipment to three city parks. The city’s recreational manager shared how these new additions would benefit the community.
Using a generous donation of $150,000 from Amerigroup, the city of Jackson plans to update its parks and recreations for residents’ health and wellness.
“We will be having the in the park series,” said Bridgett Parham, the City of Jackson’s Recreational Manager.
This series will focus on showing residents how to use new materials and health education.
“We will utilize the equipment of the playground equipment in the parks and also do some health and wellness programs, nutritional programs, educational programs,” said Parham.
The new playground furnishings will be added to Conger, Stella Duncan, and Muse parks. Before city officials reached out to Amerigroup, all of those sites underwent a thorough inspection for renovations.
“They’d all been inspected, and we knew some needed to be replaced, some needed new additions. we thought this would be a great time to partner with an organization.”
“The project is expected to begin in April and end in June.
