Tax experts urge taxpayers to start preparing for tax season

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ ) - As December continues to roll on, tax experts encourage taxpayers to start preparing for tax season.

Taxpayers will begin to receive their W2s in January.

The tax experts at Jackson Hewitt Tax Service predict it will be a complicated year to file tax because of the stimulus checks and child tax credit checks many Americans received this year.

“If you are not comfortable with learning all those rules or going to the IRS website and digging up the pubs find a tax friend that can help you answer questions or just do it for you. It is really a smart investment this year due to all of the changes,” said Mark Steber, the Chief Tax Information Officer with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.

Jackson Hewitt also urges the public to keep all needed documents organized to prevent any mistakes or penalties.

The deadline to file your tax will be April 18, 2022.
