St. Mary's Catholic Church and School host Multicultural Festival this Saturday in Jackson

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - Come out and experience various cultures at St. Mary’s Multicultural Festival this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School are hosting the festival to celebrate their 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.

The church and school wanted to commemorate this special jubilee by celebrating the different cultural traditions within the Catholic faith.

The pastor at St. Mary's explains why recognizing the different cultural traditions is important to the church and school.

“We believe in a community and unity among our all those who are followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we don’t believe in uniformity. So, we celebrate our diversity, and it is something that is very treasured to us,” said Father David Graham, the pastor at St. Mary Catholic Church and School.

The event is free and open to the public. At the Multicultural Festival, attendees will have a chance to try foods from other cultures, see a classic car show, enjoy musical performances, and much more.

Again, the Multicultural Festival is happening from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School located at 1665 US-45 Bypass in Jackson.
