RIFA set to host food drive this Saturday
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Regional Inter-Faith Association also known as RIFA will be hosting their tenth annual Pack the Bus Food Drive this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Food donations will be accepted at four locations across Jackson to benefit the Snack Backpack Program.
The Snack Backpack Program provides backpacks filled with food to 14 schools in Madison county throughout the school year.
Volunteers will be at the Walmart on the northside of the city and all three Kroger locations in Jackson collecting donations.
The marketing director at RIFA wants to encourage everyone to donate.
“RIFA provides over 13 hundred Snack Backpacks each week to various schools throughout Jackson-Madison county, so these snack backpacks are filled with six meals and two snacks to get them through that Saturday and Sunday. So, when they come to school on Monday morning, they have been feed they are ready and eager to learn,” said Gracie Sloan, the Marketing Dir. at RIFA.

Kroger University Parkway (35 W. University Pkwy.)

Microwavable popcorn
Apple sauce
Oatmeal
Chicken noodle soup
Macaroni and cheese
Ravioli
Monetary donations are accepted as well.
