Pro-life groups celebrate the abortion ban in Tennessee by ringing bells
JACKSON, TENN (WNBJ)-

Today Tennessee's trigger law went into effect, making abortion almost completely illegal in the state.
Pro-life pregnancy center Birth Choice celebrated the ban by asking churches and organizations to ring bells all across west Tennessee this morning.
“The idea is to raise awareness but also celebrate lives being saved, but also commemorate those that were lost," said Birth Choice's Director of Development Tiffany Dawson.
Union University rang its bell tower for 5 minutes, each minute the bells rang represented one decade since Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Birth Choice is celebrating, but they aren't shutting their doors.
“We're still seeing a lot of clients. We are thinking we might even be busier in the coming weeks and months," Dawson said.
The organization is continuing to provide free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and parenting classes.
Dawson said, “They'll still be in hard circumstances. So we still plan to help them and, you know, be a resource for them.”
Pro-life organization life 139 at Union held a prayer service before the bell ringing.
Student Peter Holmquist said, "We have to also look forward at all the work we have ahead of us. I say we take today to celebrate, but tomorrow we hit the ground running. And we get ready for the next battle we have."
