Powerball Lottery Reaches One Billion Dollars
JACKSON, TENNESSEE
Lottery players are in for a treat this Halloween as the jackpot has reached one billion dollars.
Only four other jackpots in the country have ever topped the one-billion-dollar amount, making it a rare occasion.
The jackpot took off after no one won the 825-million-dollar prize in last Saturday’s drawing.
A potential winner shares what she would do if she won the jackpot.
“I would donate a lot of it and buy a new house and a new car.”
Winning today’s jackpot will be the second largest jackpot in Powerball history according to a release from the lottery.
The largest jackpot was 1.586 billion, won on January 13, 2016.
So far this year there have been five Powerball winnings. This player shares what she would do with the rest,
“I’d give it away probably.”
Jackpot winners have the option of receiving the prize in an immediate lump sum or as an annuity.
Drawings are done every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and tickets start at two dollars.
