OMNI Foundation recieves grant
JACKSON, TENN (WNBJ)-
Every year over 1000 children age out of the foster care system and are at a high risk for homelessness.
Today the Tennessee housing trust fund gave the OMNI family foundation a grant to address the issue
“We were concerned of the potentially hundreds of young people with nowhere to go who might end up in the streets or might be exploited in other ways. And so we targeted some of our grant resources to help organizations like the omni family foundation,” said Ralph M. Perry of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.
The grant will be used to purchase housing in Madison and Shelby county to help approximately 20 young Tennesseans who are aging out of the foster care system have a place to go.
The omni foundation will also help the young adults with career and education opportunities.
