Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship returns to Jackson
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship returns to the hub city this year.
This year marks the 42nd OVC Baseball Tournament. The games started at 2 p.m. today and will continue throughout Saturday at the Ballpark in Jackson.
It also marks the return of the OVC to the Ballpark, which previously hosted the championship from 2010 to 2016.
The Executive Director at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce is glad to welcome players back to the city and explains the economic boost the city will likely receive from the OVC.
“The economic impact of having a tournament like this is substantial. This year there are only four teams usually there are eight but because of COVID there’s only four so they bring along with their team which is about 20 rooms per teams. Then on top of that, they bring in their family members so you can see where that starts to add up,” Lori Nunnery, the Executive Director at Visit Jackson.
The teams playing in the OVC are Southeast Missouri, Austin Peay, Murray State, and Morehead State.
Tickets will be ten dollars for adults per day and five dollars per day for children 12 and under. Parking is five dollars per day.
All seats are general admission for the OVC Championship.
