New Health and Wellness Lounge Comes to Downtown Jackson

JACKSON, Tn.-This year Jackson Tennessee was named the fastest growing city in the us. More jobs and businesses are beginning to blossom in the city. Including this new art lounge and juice bar in a historical part of downtown jackson.

Crystal's Zen and Juice bar was once home to Jackson's local train station that was built in 1907. The business owner explained why this was the perfect location for her lounge.

“Look at this spot like it's just beautiful. I love just like the energy of the whole building. the vintage feel of it all, the history of it all and I also wanted to bring health and wellness to this community, to this side of Jackson, Tennessee,” said Crystal Brown owner of Zen and Juice.

Brown shares how holistic health changed her life and why she was inspired to help others.

“I discovered that I was an artist through my coping with the PTSD and kind of led into a little bit of light therapy and because of the mental symptoms of the experience and listening to physical symptoms. So I just changed my whole approach to a holistic way and started that whole food diet, got into yoga and art therapy.”

Crystal tells 39 News that her dream of opening her business came true when she met Jackson entrepreneur Trunetta Atwater. The owner of the Soul Collective.

“And I recognized in Jackson that there really wasn't a community for black entrepreneurs to thrive. We always wanted to just help that community learn some of the hard lessons that I had to endure alone, because entrepreneurship is a very lonely journey,” says Trunetta Atwater.

Since 2020, there has been an increased number of businesses in Jackson. The city has been working to renovate downtown in order to keep up with tourism and growth. Crystals Zen and Juice is a part of the Soul Collective group located in downtown Jackson at 582 S Royal St. She offers food, drinks, and art classes that include: painting, beading jewelry and incense making.
