Miss Volunteer America set to host scholarship pageant in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. (WNBJ) - The Miss Volunteer America will start hosting its scholarship pageant this week in the hub city.
The pageant will welcome contestants from all over the country.
The founder of the pageant says there will be 47 state titleholders, and 32 teens completing for the crown.
“I am so excited because at the national pageant we will be giving away over 150,000 dollars in scholarships to these young women so we can’t wait. We are really excited to welcome them all to Jackson, TN,” said Allison Alderson DeMarcus, the founder of the Miss Volunteer America Pageant.
The teen pageant contestants will be competing this Friday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 30 at 3:30 p.m. at Liberty Tech High School.
The preliminary Miss Volunteer Competition is Wednesday, May 4th through 6th with finals being held on Saturday, May 7th at 7 p.m. at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.
