March is the final month for City of Jackson's leaf sweep pick-up

JACKSON, Tenn. (WNBJ) - This is the final month of the city of Jackson's leaf sweep pick up.
During the month, leaves do not have to be bagged but must be raked into piles to be picked up.
Through the new process of leaf pickup, during the 2020-2021 leaf pickup season, the city of Jackson's groundskeeping crew collected approximately 536 loads of leaves, which equal out to about 5 million pounds of leaves.
During the season, leaf pickup crews were assigned to each district and started at one side and sweep the entire district before starting over.
This way, Jackson residents did not have to call to request leaf pick-up during the season due to the new sweep-thru method.
After March 31st, residents will need to bag their leaves and call 311 for pick up.
