Many are celebrating the 4th of July weekend at Chickasaw State Park
JACKSON, TENN (WNBJ)-
It's Independence day weekend and many are celebrating at Chickasaw state park.
“We're expecting large crowds. All of our picnic shelters are reserved. Our swimming area is very popular during the summer anyway it'll be that much more popular on a holiday weekend as it is. And we have very limited campsites available, and we have 115 campsites, and I believe we have less than ten available," said Park Ranger Scott Easley.
Although there are limited spots available left for camping the park is open to all visitors. And whether you chose to camp or just spend the day at Chickasaw there are plenty of activities for the whole family.
Like swimming, boating, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and special events. You can learn more at tnstateparks.com/parks/chickasaw
Easley wants everyone to have a fun and safe Fourth, “We have a lot of rules in place for safety….so just be cognizant of those rules. Just be careful and everything should be great where we have rangers here 24, seven to help with the safety of everybody here.”
If you're looking for somewhere to spend the holiday weekend Easley says look no further than Chickasaw, “It's going to be crowded, but there's still plenty of room for everybody to come out and have a good time.
