Local event providing free dental services to the public happening this Friday and Saturday

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The second annual Jackson Mission of Mercy event is happening this Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Historic First Baptist Church in Jackson.

The Jackson Mission of Mercy is a charity dental service event where attendees can receive free dental services on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All participants can visit vendor booths, which offer medical screenings and a host of other services and resources.

Helping Hands of Tennessee is hosting the event and encourages the public to take advantage of this free opportunity to better their health.

“We are expecting to provide about 200,000 dollars of no-cost dental services to the public and that does not include the eye examinations and the medical assistance that people will receive so we are excited about what that looks like. The Mission of Mercy is all throughout the nation and again it is about collaborating, providing resources that people really need to make an impact,” said Sabrina Blue, the Chief Operating Officer, with Helping Hands of Tennessee.

Event-goers will be tested for COVID-19 before being allowed entry into the venue.

All services will be provided by community volunteer licensed dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and dental students. No proof of income is required.

All children attending the event must be accompanied by two adults.

Again, the Jackson Mission of Mercy is happening this Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Historic First Baptist Church in Jackson.
