Local entrepreneur set to host 'Soul' event to help business owners learn about grand funding
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, many business owners are in need of guidance when it comes to navigating the ever-changing entrepreneurial world.
The Soul event is happening this Thursday at 6 p.m. at TheCo and aims to assist business owners through that journey.
The Soul event is a safe space for business owners to ask questions and learn best practices to improve their entrepreneur skills.
The event creator and organizer Trunetta Atwater explains what topic will be discussed at the event.
“For entrepreneurs and for non-profit organizers grants are truly important for funding. So, I have had a lot of questions about how grants are awarded. How do you apply? How do you find them? So, we wanted to open up this space and this event to specifically get those questions answered so people are prepared when they go, apply and find grants,” said Trunetta Atwater, the creator of the Soul event.
TheCo serves as a center for innovation for entrepreneurs in west Tennessee.
The executive director wants the public to know that TheCo wants to lend a helping hand to business owners in any way they can.
“We really just want to provide a space for underserved entrepreneurs. In this case, when I meet Trunetta, talked with Trunetta, and really heard her heart from black entrepreneurs, we wanted to help create that space with her. I meant TheCo is a resource for entrepreneurs, so it is a natural fit,” said Lisa Garner, the Executive Director at TheCo.
The Soul event is free and open to the public.
It’s all happening at TheCo located at 541 Wiley Parker Road in Jackson starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Atwater encourages people to pre-register for the event online at eventbrite.com.
Attendees can also register at the door at the time of the event as well.
