JSCC set to host upcoming softball camp

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Jackson State Community College Athletics program will be hosting two softball camps this week at Jim Swope field.

Each camp is separated into different age groups ranging from age six to college-age students. The head softball coach says the camps will teach the fundamentals of softball such as basic hitting, base-running, and throwing skills.

Coach Schubert is thrilled about being able to host the program’s first softball camp.

“I am super excited. I think this is what we need as far as a community. I am really excited to see some new faces. I think this going to be really great for the program, just trying to get Jackson State back out in the community that’s my number one goal," said Taylor Schubert, the Head Softball Coach at Jackson State Community College.

Wednesday’s camp is 30 dollars per camper for ages 6 to 12-year-olds and starts from 9 a.m. to noon. Thursday’s camp is 65 per camper for students in the 9th grade through current college students. It starts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Campers will need gloves, cleats, tennis shoes, helmets, bats, and water.

Campers can register on the day of the camp or by emailing Coach Schubert at tschubert@jscc.edu.
