JPD taking extra precautions for upcoming Christmas parade

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Jackson Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 6th.

In lieu of the tragic event that happened last weekend in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where six people were killed when a car drove into a parade route the Jackson Police Department will be increasing their presence at the parade.

“We have a strong law enforcement present. We will be at every intersection of the parade. We will have a roving patrol. We will have our command post set up. We will be leading the parade and be at the rear of the parade. We have added some precautions. There will be multiple units at the very end of the parade,” said Lt. Ellen Williams, from the Traffic/Warrants Division with the Jackson Police Department.

The last day to register for the parade is November 30th.
