Job fair happening this Tuesday in Humboldt

HUMBOLDT, TN (WNBJ) - Attention all job seekers: Gibson County will be hosting a job fair tomorrow in Humboldt.

This will be the first-ever Gibson County Job Fair and Business Expo.

It is a joint effort by the Milan, Humboldt, and the Greater Gibson County Area Chamber of Commerce to aid businesses and job seekers.

“We are doing this job fair and business expo because there are so many businesses right looking for employees and then so many companies out there who are trying to come back from the pandemic and want to get words out on what their business does. So, we are really excited about that,” said Amanda Love, Executive Director at the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce.

The job fair will feature 31 businesses in a table-top style format where each participating company will be able to present their business and offer employment opportunities.

Several local businesses will be there looking for new employees, a few include Tyson Foods, GCP Marketing, The Coffee Shop, the Humboldt Police Department, and many more.

An employment supervisor with Tyson Foods says they are trying to fill hundreds of positions and the company is a great place to work.

“I would tell people to become a part of Tyson and my experience is that I have had … oh, my gosh. It’s just an overwhelming excitement because I am in a community with an organization that believes in family, believes in safety for their employees, that really just cares about their employees and wants to ensure they will succeed in life,” said Marcus Spinks, an Employment Supervisor at Tyson Foods.

Business expo participants include UT Extension of Gibson County, Alternative Choice Counseling Center, Gibson County Economic Development, and numerous others.

So, if you are ready to step into your new career, representatives will be there to help you get hired from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Tuesday.

The Gibson County Job Fair and Business Expo is happening tomorrow at the Humboldt Medical Center Conference Room and the event is free to the public.
