Jackson Police Department investigate North Jackson homicide

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ)-

Investigators with the Jackson police department are investigating a homicide in that occurred Wednesday afternoon in north Jackson.

Around 3:00 pm, a 21-year-old male, Jamarcus Holliday, was brought to Jackson Madison County General Hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle by his friends who witnessed the shooting. The victim was shot near his home on Pueblo Cove during a fight.

Holliday later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim's body was sent for autopsy.

A person of interest was located and was in custody within hours of the shooting. The police are not searching for any additional suspects.
