Jackson-Madison Co. set to celebrate Bicentennial Birthday Bash Kickoff this Saturday
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - Let the good times and cheer begin, the city of Jackson and Madison County will be hosting its Birthday Bash Kickoff Celebration this Saturday starting at 2 p.m. around the Farmer’s Market in downtown Jackson.
The city and county are commemorating 200 years of history, culture, and community.
The Birthday Bash event will feature live music, train rides, a petting zoo, food, and several activities the entire family can enjoy.
The commission chair of the event wants to encourage everyone to come out and take part in all the bicentennial festivities.
“Well, it’s really going to be exciting. People moved here 200 years ago with their dreams. They have raised their families here. It’s all about the heritage and celebrating the history of our community and our uniqueness. We want to encourage people to help us with this,” said Elaine Christian, chair of the Jackson-Madison Co. Bicentennial.
Christian went on to say that the Jackson- Madison County Bicentennial is one of the largest civic pride initiatives this community has ever seen.
Multiple events will be held during the year-long celebration.
Again, the Birthday Bash Kickoff Celebration is happening this Saturday starting at 2 p.m. in downtown Jackson and the event is free to the public.
