JACKSON, TN (WNBJ)-
Jackson was listed as one of the top ten cities to retire in according to the American Association of Retired Peoples also known as AARP.
William Dellastiaous a retired resident of Jackson had this to say about retiring here, “Jackson has an awful lot to offer people, restaurants like I said the Carl Perkins center, the symphonies, it’s just a well-rounded town. And it’s not small!”
William Dellastiaour retired 40 years ago and believes that Jackson is a great place to retire. He says that no matter what people are interested in there is something for everyone.
AARP listed many benefits of retiring in Jackson; Including the parks, health care, high-speed internet, easy access across town and activities.
“For our community, there is a wide range of activities to get involved in, from the vibrant arts community to the outdoors with the numerous parks and activities, there’s a lot of different things for people to do," said Lori Nunnery the executive director of Visit Jackson.
Nunnery went on to say that people are often surprised by the amount of things that Jackson has to offer, “They say you’re only a community of 100,000, you have a lot of things to offer here…really we serve a region of about a half a million people, so there more amenities here than what you would traditionally find in a community our size”
