Jackson Chamber of Commerce hires new economic development coordinator
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Jackson Chamber of Commerce has hired a new Economic Development Coordinator.
The new hire says she’s excited to be back in the city of Jackson and eager to get to work to better her community.
“I’m excited to learn about economic development as a whole and also excited to bring new ideas to the team. And help develop some new things while I’m here,” said Rachel Tucker, the Economic Development Coordinator with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
Rachel Tucker is the new Economic Development Coordinator at the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
Tucker is a Memphis native who attended Union University and also interned with chamber while in college.
“I enjoy working with Mandy and other staff workers here. It felt like home, and it felt like somewhere I automatically fit into, so it was an easy decision to come back again,” said Tucker.
Mandy White, the Senior VP of Economic Development at the chamber, explains how valuable this position is to the city.
“Rachel will be working along with other members of team Madison County. Not only to try to recruit manufacturing companies to the area but support the ones that are here. As much as 80 percent of our new jobs come from existing industries and cultivating and maintaining those relationships is very important,” said Mandy White, the Senior VP of Economic Development with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce.
White says Tucker is already fitting in great with the team.
“You know Rachel hit the ground running. I think that it’s exciting for us to find someone who has such energy and is interested in doing everything she can to make Jackson a better place,” said White.
The economic development coordinator position also includes some additional responsibilities like updating social media accounts and administrative duties.
