Independence Day weekend event at Discovery Park of America
UNION CITY, TN (WNBJ)-
Still, looking for a way to celebrate independence day weekend? Tomorrow living historians will take over Discovery Park of America to interact with guests. James Madison, Samuel Adams, Betsy Ross and other revolutionary figures will be played by park staff and local actors.
Nathaniel Newlin who will play benjamin franklin speaks about the main event of the weekend, “Samuel Adams will get our guests really riled up and they’ll be screaming huzzah and hissing, and then they will participate in an actual reenactment of the Boston tea party. They’ll go grab some boxes throw them off into the lake."
The reenactment will happen at 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. The park will also have a ringing of the bell ceremony with the reading of the Declaration of Independence and thirteen rings of the liberty bell for the original thirteen colonies
This will take place at 1:30 PM.
The CEO of discovery park of America Scott Williams says that this event is a good time but also an educational opportunity, “It’s just an incredible weekend for people who want to bring their kids to both celebrate independence day, but also learn a little bit,"
