Highway 70 Yard Sale expecting to see busiest days this weekend

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The annual Highway 70 Yard Sale is happening this weekend and some sellers are already making deals and selling items.

The Highway 70 Yard Sale extends over 200 miles from Memphis to Nashville.

Shoppers can find a variety of items ranging from antiques, kitchenware, toys, and much more.

Jackson resident Charles Harris has been participating in the yard sale for six years and loves being able to meet new people.

“People come from all over the country here to do this. This lady called me from Texas last night wanting to know was open. She came early this morning. So, we get people from all over the country it is just kind of fun, you get to meet people and learn new things,” said Charles Harris, a seller in Highway 70 Yard Sale.

The yard sale is organized by volunteers and it is always held the second weekend in June.

Sellers are responsible for setting their own hours and some begin selling items the week leading up to the busiest days of the sale, which are Thursday, June 10th through Saturday, June 12th.

Antique and record collector Mike Hooper traveled from McEwen to shop at the sale.

“If there is something that you need for your home, whether it’s a TV, dishwasher, anything, or as a collector, you will most likely find it on this sale,” said Mike Hooper, a shopper at the yard sale.

Shoppers interested in the sale can travel along Highway 70 and find large signs pointing you in the right direction.
