Helping Hands of Tennessee works to better oral health with new initiative
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - Helping Hands of Tennessee is a local l dental non-profit in the hub city that is working to better oral health in the community.
“It’s not a luxury to have a beautiful smile. It is a necessity,” said Sabrina Blue, the CEO and Founder of Helping Hands of Tennessee.
Helping Hands of Tennessee has launched a new initiative called Same-Day Dentures.
“The Same-Day Dentures’ allows us to have patients come in the morning and get their dental impressions. Try on their dentures and be able to pick those up later on in the day so it saves our patients a lot of time,” said Blue.
This initiative allows the dental clinic to see 12 patients per day and says anyone can take advantage of the service.
“This is a place is for people of any income. Whether you have zero income and you have an emergency. You say, man, I don’t have any money, but I really need to get the help. We can still help you,” said Blue.
The dental technician at Helping Hands talks about the joys of his job.
“It makes me a whole a lot happier than most people. I can tell you right now, I walk out every day with a smile because I try to treat everyone like it’s my mother or my grandmother. I want them to walk out with a smile on their face and I am literally making the smile for them,” said Shannon Joel Newman, the Dental Technician with Helping Hands of Tennessee.
Helping Hands of Tennessee is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
