Goodwill Hosts Community and Resource Fair in Jackson

JACKSON Tn.-Goodwill hosted their Job Fair and Community Resource Event today from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Allowing people in Jackson to connect with employees and free local resources.

“So, we are hosting our career and resource fair today. And we have people from the community providing, different resources, mostly from the state as well as local employers that are needing new employees.” says Dessia Carter, Goodwill Career Solutions

Carter explains that events like these are beneficial for both employers and people seeking employment.

“It's very important because we've got employers coming in that they're just really short staffed. So, the staff that is there is having to work extra hours to cover shifts and that sort of thing. And so, it's just a common issue of being understaffed.” explained Carter.

Goodwill Career services looks to provide individuals with any resources they may need to become successful.

“We work really hard trying to make sure that everybody's needs are met and whatever avenue that is and whatever avenue we need to take to make sure that everything is as smooth as possible.”

The next career and resource fair will be hosted next month on November 2nd.
