Goodwill aiding community members on their job search

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - This week is Goodwill Week! Every year during the first full week of May, Goodwill organizations across the U.S. and Canada celebrate Goodwill Week to highlight their mission, which is transforming lives through the power of work.

The week is filled with several events at its nine career solutions centers across the region.

In Jackson, events range from an outdoor job and community resource fair with 10 employers to high school equivalency classes, client mock interviews, and resume writing assistance.

Goodwill is overjoyed about bringing the week of events back after having to cancel last year because of COVID.

“Now that COVID is dying down and we are able to get back out there again, serve the community, and help people. It is one of the most thrilling feelings, one of the most rewarding feelings that you could possibly have, just being able to help somebody,” said Jamie Davolt, a Career Coach at Goodwill Career Solutions.

Goodwill Week will be at the Goodwill Career Solutions Center at 1320 South Highland Avenue in Jackson.
