Gibson County shops open for Christmas shoppers

HUMBOLDT, TN (WNBJ) - Christmas time is here and many are still getting their last-minute shopping done.

Some local shops in Gibson County may have those unique gifts that you need.

“It’s kind of like family here. We talk and you can actually see the stuff being put together when the ladies are working so it is very unique. It is very different, but you can design it, or have it made any way you like,” said Brenda Ward, the owner of Peppermint Pony.

Peppermint Pony in Humboldt sells handmade children’s clothes for newborns to a child size 16.

“I cut things out just by looking at it. It’s amazing just to take a piece of fabric and just cut it and make it into something from what you design or sketch out. We can actually sketch it for you and tweak it until you get it how you want it,” said Ward.

Jo Kema’s Boutique is another store in Humboldt that’s ready to supply you with your holiday needs.

“So, it is just a variety of things, and look for a gift I think they could find it here,” said Dennice Morgan, the store owner of Jo Kema’s.

Jo Kema’s sells paparazzi jewelry, shoes, toys, children, and adult clothing.

“Our prices are not expensive; we have reasonable prices. A lot of the things we have, you are not going to buy here and see someone out on the street with it on. I say we are boutique slash retail because some things we may have multiples and some things we don’t. We are a very caring family here, so we welcome everyone to come,” said Morgan.

Both Jo Kema’s and Peppermint Pony are located in downtown Humboldt near Main Street.
