“I know that this is a special time, welcoming…last year we had 38 states and 12 countries represented. so people coming from around the world to encourage each other”

Bible lectureship week is also a big event for FHU students.

“This is probably our second biggest event at Freed, it brings a lot of business to Henderson and a lot of people are here and it's just really fun to socialize and go to all the lectures,” explains sophomore Sophia Sikes.

“It's been good to get away from the worries of day to day stuff and go to a class where i can invest time into studying and being around like minded people instead of being in a class for something else,” says FHU freshman Scott Campbell.

People from as far away as Ukraine are attending this year's event as the university works to promote unity.

“So it's just a time to draw near to each other and we want everyone to leave her encouraged knowing how loved they are,” explains Burleson.

Bible Lectureship started Friday and will last throughout the week. Lectureship is open to community members of all ages.
