Food delivery app, Waitr looking to hire 200 new drivers in Jackson

JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Waitr app is looking to hire 200 new employees in the Jackson area.

The app is an online food ordering platform, providing delivery and carryout options to customers.

Waitr says once drivers are hired they work as independent contractors. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have proof of auto insurance, and a smartphone.

The app is a convenient way to discover, order, and receive great food from local restaurants

“During COVID, especially, when everything was shut down and people were at home. Food delivery was, you know, a literal lifesaver both for the restaurant and for people who needed food at home. But, both locally in Jackson and throughout the country where we food service restaurants, food delivery companies really helped restaurants keep the doors open," said Andrea Bell, the Corporate Sales Support Manager at Waitr.
