First Baptist Church in Lexington set to host 'Night of Champions' event this Friday

LEXINGTON, TN (WNBJ) - The First Baptist Church in Lexington will be hosting the Night of Champions event this Friday night at 6:45.

The event will feature former University of Tennessee quarterback and current NFL Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Josh Dobbs as the keynote speaker.

The Night of Champions event is organized to motivate young athletes all over west Tennessee to keep their faith first throughout life.

Approximately 600 high school and middle school football players from the area are scheduled to be in attendance.

The pastor at First Baptist was at the church this morning preparing the sanctuary for the event and tells 39 News what these students can expect from this exciting event.

“We are just going to do an interview with him on stage. He is going to get the opportunity to share his heart, talk about the big play against Georgia that he had, and a lot of different things like that. We are going to talk about his baptism. We are actually going to see the video of his baptism and he is going to talk about his faith so it’s going to be a very interactive time,” said Dr. Clay Hallmark, the senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Lexington.

Tickets for this event are limited, but you may still be able to buy tickets online at the First Baptist Church's website. General admission for the event is 15 dollars.

First Baptist Church is located on 55 Stafford Avenue in Lexington.
