Few parents opt their kids out of the Jackson-Madison County school mask mandate

Last Wednesday the Jackson-madison county school district began a mask mandate for schools. However, parents have the option to opt-out of this mandate because of Governor Bill Lee’s executive order. For parents to opt their children out they have to submit documentation.
Greg Hammond Chief of Staff with the school board gave an update on how many parents have chosen to opt-out,
“We have just over 1250 students in our district, just 36 students or parents have completed the opt-out form
Parents can complete the paperwork to opt their children out of the mask mandate at anytime
