Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center set to host telethon this Sunday
JACKSON, TN (WNBJ) - The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the prevention of child abuse will be hosting its 38th annual Circles of Hope Telethon this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
The telethon is an event organized to raise money for children who have been victims of child abuse in 20 counties across west Tennessee.
The prevention center has a theme for the event, which is Be The Light.
They want to remind people about the importance of giving because the money that is raised at the telethon helps prevent child abuse and also helps children get through the recovery process.
“In the past year, we’ve served 3,966 children and we use the funding from events like the telethon to serve those kids. These kids some of them don’t have anybody supporting them and if you can give, even it is a small amount of money, you don’t realize how far that money goes, and that money supports these kids,” said Megan Lewis, Marketing Coordinator at Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Again, the ‘circles of hope’ telethon are happening this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Carl Perkins Center will be hosting several events trying to raise money for child abuse victims.
You can always donate to this cause through the Carl Perkins Center for Prevention of Child Abuse website.
