Early Voting for City Mayoral Runoff Election Kicks Off Tomorrow
JACKSON, Tenn.- Madison County is preparing for the mayoral runoff election on June 13th, and is kicking off early voting tomorrow, May 24th.
The Madison County Election Commission has confirmed its office has moved to a new location, but early voting for this runoff election will remain at 311 North Parkway.
“We’re a city of over 200,000 people in the daytime, we’re concerned about streets, we’re concerned about solid waste pickup, we’re concerned about litter control… you’ve already voted for your city council people that will be representing you in each district, now it’s time to decide who our mayor is going to be.”
Downtown Ricky Brown is encouraging everyone in Madison County to come out and early vote between tomorrow and June 8th.
He shares with 39 News that as a community member, he is motivated to exercise his voting rights.
He reports there are 63,000 registered voters in Madison County.
“It’s all about your community, we all have streets, we want our garbage picked up, we want to go pay our taxes at city hall, we want to see the fire trucks when we have a problem, we want to see the police cars… be a part of that.”
You can cast your early ballots from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, or 9 am to noon on Saturday from May 24th to June 8th at 311 North Parkway.
