Don't Drink and Drive this St. Patrick's Day

Jackson, TN. (WNBJ)-

March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day and for many that means bar hoping, but before you get behind the wheel under the influence here are a couple services you can take advantage of.

If you want to avoid gaining a DUI celebrating this holiday having a plan for your arrival and departure are imperative. Ride share services like Uber and Lyft offer discounted rides for impaired drivers on St. Patrick’s Day. Triple A also provides a service that will tow you and your car to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. Megan Cooper (AAA Spokesperson) stated, “the tow 2 go program through triple a has been around for a number of years. We—we did disable it for quite some time due to covid, but we are back up and running, and we are activating the program for St. Patrick’s Day.”

Many road services like triple a understand that drivers want to have a good time while celebrating this holiday, but they also want to keep drives safe on the roads. Megan Cooper (AAA Spokesperson) explained, “however, we do want drivers to use this as a last resort. We still want people to have a plan in place to get home safely at the end of the night.”

You do not have to be a triple a member to use the service, and rides and destinations will be completely confidential. You can call (855) 2-tow-2-go for a safe ride this St. Patrick’s Day.
