Discovery Park of America adds walking portion of "Let it Glow"

UNION CITY, TN (WNBJ)-

The drive-through light display at Discovery Park of America has been a tradition for many years in west Tennessee.

The lights were turned on Friday for the first time this season and this year there's a new addition,

“One problem that we frequently had was people would want to get out of their cars and want to take pictures with the lights. And so it finally dawned on us, hey let's give people what they want, so we’ve decorated an entire section of our park in Christmas lights. It's absolutely breathtaking it looks like a hallmark hall of fame movie,” says Discovery Park of America CEO Scott Williams.

Williams says visitors can walk through that "hallmark movie" in the Japanese garden, European garden, and Mill ridge section of the park.

The traditional drive-through allows visitors to travel around the 50-acre park in their vehicles and see more than one million twinkling lights synchronized to Christmas songs/

Guests to the park have enjoyed the new additions to the let it glow lights show

“it was, the lights were just magical," Twins Jack and Jesse say.

They also enjoyed the food and beverages sold at mill ridge, "The hot chocolate was very good.”

Discovery Park of America CEO Scott Williams believes that the lights are a great way to get out and enjoy the holidays, "I think people are ready for a little Christmas joy in their lives.”

The lights will be lit up every day except Thanksgiving until December 30th.
