Clay Hill LLC hosts National Tractor Pull Association Championship this weekend

ATWOOD, TN (WNBJ)-

The championship truck and tractor pulls are kicking off this weekend. The best of the best are set to take the track as they compete for points in the championship cup. Last year the championship was canceled due to the pandemic, so drivers are excited to begin pulling again this weekend.

“Last year we had I think 6 hooks we were able to go to… we usually go to about 30 hooks a year so covid really took an impact…basically pulling was shut down…so yeah we’re all pretty excited to get out of the house and go back and meet our friends you know that we see and pull with all year long," says Russell Nichols the owner and driver of "On the Edge" truck.

Although many of the drivers are farmers these trucks and tractors are nothing like the ones you see on a farm.

“You’ll see automotive engines just like you would in a dragster. You’ll see the super farm tractor that’s nothing like the farm tractor at all. But they pull a weighted sled and the person that pulls it the furthest wins! It’s pretty simple, it's loud, it’s fun, it’s the all-American motorsport perfect for rural America," says

The championship pulls are scheduled for Friday and Saturday night at 7 PM.

Tickets for anyone 12 years and older are 25$ at the door.

For childer 11 and under tickets are 10$.
