Bolivar Central High student receives basketball scholarship
BOLIVAR, TN (WNBJ) - Congratulations are in order for Bolivar Central High School student, Toris Woods.
Toris has received a full scholarship to play basketball for Columbia State Community College in Columbia, Tennessee. He had his signing day yesterday at the high school, where the head basketball coach at CSCC and his family members were all in attendance.
Toris had six other schools that offered him scholarships, but CSCC was his first choice. He is really excited about starting school in the fall and becoming a better player on the college level.
"I feel like the coach will push me so that’s what I need to go to the next level. Obviously, I am going to a Jocko to try to make my way to a D-1 or a D-2 school,” said Toris Woods, the Columbia State Community College basketball scholarship recipient.
Toris led the team to the district, regional, sub-state, and state tournaments. His team finished this season 22 and 6.
Toris plans to be a general studies major at CSCC and will go on to major in physical education at a four-year university.
