Biden Administration Provides 1 Billion Free Rapid Covid Test to Americans
Jackson, TN. (WNBJ)-
The U.S. postal service has begun taking orders for free at-home coronavirus testing kits. Each household order will contain four rapid tests, which the postal service says will be shipped for free, in late January. Healthcare professional dr. Allyson Anyanwu say’s this response will be very helpful for the over worked clinics. Dr. Allyson Anyanwu (Sunshine Medical Care, inc. Urgent Care Center Owner) stated, “So many people want to know if they are infected or not. There is a real high demand on the clinics and people are having to wait long time to get a test.”
The White House says it will prioritize shipments to communities that are experiencing high rates of covid cases. While many are excited about the roll-out, honesty around test results may be a concern. Dr. Allyson Anyanwu (Sunshine Medical Care, inc. Urgent Care Center Owner) explained, “one of the things to do is to understand when you do have a positive test, we have to act like it’s positive and quarantine and not just know that information and continue on.”
Honesty about testing results is not the only concern, for healthcare professional accurate numbers of infected residents is also a cause for concern. Dr. Allyson Anyanwu (Sunshine Medical Care, inc. Urgent Care Center Owner) informed us, “the at home test are not necessary being reported. So whatever we know from the doctors’ offices and reportable places we’ll know. The actual impact is going to be far wider spread.”
If you would like to order a testing kit, visit covidtests.gov, click the “order free at home test button, fill in the information asked and order your kits. Test are going quickly. Over 700,000 people have been reported on the site today.
