American Job Center hosts multi-employer job fair in Jackson

JACKSON, TN ( WNBJ) - A local job agency hosted a job fair today to connect job seekers with employers.

As the holidays draw closer many employers are looking to hire seasonal workers. The American Job Center in Jackson hosted a job fair this morning to help those seeking employment.

The multi-employer job fair included a wide variety of employers from the medical industry, staffing agencies, and the state department of corrections.

A recruiter with Paramount Staffing is looking for people interested in working in the warehouse industry.

“So, if you want to work in robotic welding, forklift, press break, general labor anything in the warehouse industry I do staff for that,” said Keya Childress, a recruiter with Paramount Staffing.

As a recruiter, Childress understands how difficult the job market has been recent.

“With the way the job market is right now and the unemployment rates. I love helping people who are just trying to provide for their families get back into the swing of it with this pandemic going on. So that’s my greatest gift to a place that right person in the right job, I know I’ve done my job,” said Childress.

Advance Choice Home Care is a family-owned and privately operated home care company for seniors. Their team has seen an uptick in care needed so they are hiring for direct support specialists also known as caregivers.

“The qualities we look for are dedication, compassion, empathy, and are really going to treat their client or patient as if was their own family,” said Chesley King, from Advance Choice Home Care.

Advance Choice Home Care provides training to all caregivers hired.
