After 10 years of serving his country, one man decided to join JDog Junk Removal & Hauling serving West Tennessee.
All of JDog’s local business operators are military veterans and the company with over 200 franchises, delivers service in a military way.
With our military values that’s what makes us unique. We built this franchise on respect, integrity, and trust,” says Daniel Witherspoon, a JDog franchise owner in West Tennessee.
Witherspoon, a native of Rutherford and a graduate of Gibson County High School enlisted in the united states army in 2004. He says that it was his calling.
“I just felt like it was a calling I needed to do. It was either stay around here and get a little job or actually do something,” said Witherspoon.
When his time in the army was up, Witherspoon worked as a fiber-optic engineer. But last year he began exploring avenues to business ownership.
“I got to researching veteran opportunities to own my own business and JDog was a good fit,” he said.
Witherspoon saw a need for a junk removal service in his community and him along with three other employees get rid of unwanted clutter.
“This area didn’t have that type of service and Jackson is steadily growing. This is home to me and I wanted to help serve the people in my community,” said Witherspoon.
Not everything he hauls away is considered trash. Witherspoon says he comes across a few treasures that can be repaired or refurbished. Those items are donated to those in need.
“We take furniture that needs a little fixing or whatever, we repair it to the best of our ability and make sure it goes to someone in need,” he said.
For Witherspoon and his team, the size of the job does not matter
“You know, there’s no job too big or too small, just give us a call and we’ll come to look at it.”
