“We applied for this grant, not, we didn’t know if we would get it. Knowing this project needed to be completed. We were elated when we found out just a few days ago that we would be getting this grant", says Milan city mayor, B.W. Beasley.

Milan city mayor B.W. Beasley says they are now in phase 4 of the revitalization process.

This phase will include adding lighting, sidewalks, and making ADA upgrades.

“And we will actually be running new sidewalks, new lighting all the way up to Bancorp south", adds Beasley.

Beasley says all of this work will help make the city more attractive to visitors and make residents feel safe in their hometown.

“With the new housing projects, new renovations at our school we are going to be very attractive for people to move here, raise there children here, get a great education from our school system", says Beasley.

No date has been set for the completion of phase 4, but they hope to start as soon as possible.
