Carroll county residents now have a local location to get tested for covid-19 and dozens of residents have already used this new resource.
Baptist Memorial Hospital in Carroll county is in week two of its mobile testing site for COVID-19.
Carroll county was one of the first rural counties in Tennessee that saw a positive case.
They hope this site gives residents easy access to testing.
“Our community to have a site locally, if they feel like they have been exposed or they have symptoms we want to make it comfortable and make it easy for them", says Chief Executive Officer, Susan Breeden.
Breeden says people who want to be tested can simply make an appointment with the resource center and drive up at the time of their appointment.
“They actually schedule you online. They will take your insurance information, but we are not asking for any co pays. If you don’t have insurance we are not asking for any payment, so that does not prevent anyone from being tested.”
Breeden says this will also help keep residents from traveling to nearing counties that may have a larger spread of the virus.
“And also it helps us, as you seen reported to have those patients stay in quarantine, especially if they test positive.”
