Humboldt achieves Main Street Accreditation
Main street is the heart of small towns across Tennessee, especially west Tennessee. And one local town is one step closer to making sure their main street is even better.
Humboldt and Elizabethton recently achieved Tennessee Main Street accreditation.
The program helps communities build their downtown area and keep it thriving, but what do humboldt residents already think about their main street?
“Oh yea, downtown Humboldt is growing leaps and bounds", says resident, Robin Elam.
“I love Humboldt, born and raised here. This is my town", says resident Kathy Sikes.
The program will allow Humboldt to receive grants for buildings, entrepreneurs moving into town, and, future designs.
Humboldt native, Kathy Sikes, says she hopes to see something for the kids in the future.
“Well I would like to see more restaurants things like that and maybe more things for the children, the youth of the community", says Sikes.
Humboldt is joining only 36 other towns in Tennessee that have achieved this accreditation to date.
The Humboldt Main Street committee will meet for the first time tomorrow. In Humboldt for 39 News, I’m Imani Williams.
